Dr. Greg Brethel received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Boston College, then worked as a field biologist on Long Island for two years. His love of animals inspired him to pursue a career in veterinary medicine, so he went on to study at St. George’s School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating after his clinical year at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Brethel then received a half year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine followed by a one year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Brethel’s professional interests include neurology, dentistry, internal medicine and surgery.
Outside of the office, he enjoys hiking, watching sports, cooking and spending time with his wife Sara and their furbabies—a dog named Maisy and a cat named Cinder.
